Trip to Batesville, AR
Dillon Smith made the long haul to Batesville, AR to run the 14th Annual Mid-American Modified Championship.  It was scheduled to be a 3 day show, $2000 to win each day, but rain had other plans. Raining out the first night of racing.  On the second night of competition Dillon would have to battle mechanical failures in the heat and forced to run the B-main.  A 2nd place finish was good enough to have him start 20th in the 40 Lap A feature.  As the race started Dillon immediately started his charge to the front.  As the race was passed the half way point Dillon found himself inside the top 10.  But then he was caught up in a 4 car accident, forcing him to the rear with just body damage.  As the green flag waved again he was back on track to the front, but with the track rubbering up it made passing difficult and as the checkered flag flew he had worked his way up to a respectable 12th place finish.  Very happy with the car Dillon was looking forward to the next day of racing.  But as the team waited to see what mother nature had in store they showed up to the track just in time for the rain showers to halt the third and final night of racing.  With a good run under his belt Dillon is looking forward to keeping the Brazos Roofing BMS modified charging to the front as the team is prepared to run a double header of Boyd $1000 to win show, and Abilene's weekly Saturday night show.  Thanks for reading and check back weekly for updates on how Dillon Smith and the 03 crew run each week!
